Brown Dorsey House

Owned, restored, and maintained by the Midland Historical Society, this home, built in 1899, is reportedly the oldest house in Midland. The historic Victorian style residence, decorated with furnishings from the 1800s, features a magnificent Gothic art glass window in the entry. The oldest remaining house in Midland, the home remained in the Brown family until 1969. To learn more about this historic site, click here. The Brown-Dorsey home is a recorded Texas Historic Landmark and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. It is under the management of the Midland Historical Society. In addition to tours, the Society schedules special events at the home, many of them free of charge. Some of those in the past have included: Christmas in 1900, Fourth of July in 1900, and a Creepy Dolls and Strange Stories evening in October.
