At this time, the Midland Historical Society operates entirely from donations from supportive community members. We use these funds to maintain Midland County History Museum, the Brown-Dorsey home, and the archives. The Midland Historical Society has 501 (c) (3) nonprofit status. As such, any donations made to the society are tax deductible. We have two current initiatives: One: The development of a permanent exhibit for the Midland County History Museum highlighting the full seep of Midland's unique history, featuring key artifacts and interpretive texts, all done with a professional consultant.
Two: We continue work to help maintain the Brown-Dorsey House, which currently requires some critical exterior restoration, and to develop the grounds to allow for a greater diversity of activities. The home is a historic Midland treasure which we want to make an important element of historically-based activities in Midland.
Please consider supporting one or both these activities. Any amount wil be helpful!
